Hector Navarro

 

Hector Navarro, a native of Jalisco Mexico, came to the United States in 1991. He is truly a success story. When he came to America he had nothing. He began working at Valley Flooring in 1997. He started as a warehouseman where he became familiar with all phases of preparation and installation of all types of floor coverings. This experience with the installation side of the business gave him invaluable experience he would later use as a sales professional. In 1999 he moved into a sales position. And now, as anyone who has had the privilege of being served by him can attest, he has become a floor covering expert. He has attended many classes, seminars and schools to help further his knowledge and expertise. Hector is also the manager of the  Carpet One Insurance Program  in which he puts together insurance quotes for State Farm, Allstate, Farmers and several other insurance companies. More than anything else, Hector enjoys helping customers choose the right product to meet their needs and beautify their home. Just come on in and ask for Hector.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Gerri Tow

 

Gerri Tow is a native of Santa Maria and a member of the famous Bourbon Family. Gerri graduated from Santa Maria High School in 1978 and began working for Montgomery Ward in the home furnishings department. After this she worked for Home Base in the window coverings department. When Home Base closed in 2002, Gerri came to work for Valley Flooring. Their loss was our gain. She is now in charge of our window coverings department here at Valley Flooring and her experience has proved invaluable. Gerri has attended many classes and seminars on a regular basis provided by our manufacturers and Carpet One. She loves to learn and is constantly looking to expand her knowledge base. She really cares about her customers and works hard to determine and meet their flooring needs. As her customers will attest, Gerri has a warm personality and truly listens to what the customer is saying. Each and every one is like family to her. And to top it all off, Gerri is also bilingual. Bob Carlson

 

 

 

Bob Carlson has worked in the flooring industry for 40 years and at Carpet One for more than 15 years. Bob moved to California from Erie, Pensylvania in 1968. He attended Dos Pueblos High School and Santa Barbara City College. He began installing carpet in 1974 and soon obtained his contractor's license. He then went into sales until he opened his own Carpet One store in Goleta in 2002. Due to economic downturn, in 2008 Bob closed the Goleta store and now he is an integral part of the Valley Flooring Carpet One of Santa Maria family. Bob's 40 years of experience in all aspects of the flooring industry makes him very knowledgable, which allows him to offer the best possible service to you the customer. And in addition to all of this, Bob is a heck of a nice guy to boot. He would be happy to assist you with your flooring needs. Just come on in and ask for Bob.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Dan Kitchen

 

Dan is the newest member to our sales team here at Valley Flooring Carpet One of Santa Maria.  But by no means is he wet-behind-the-ears.  Dan has been in the flooring business since 1994.  He formerly worked for one of our competitors, but now he is solidly entreched here at Valley Flooring Carpet One, and we are so glad to have him as part of our team.  Dan's knowledge of flooring is extensive.  In addition to being a flooring expert, Dan is also an experienced designer.  He has coordinated thousands of projects and is happy to provide you with a design consultation at no charge.  Dan hosts a radio show called Floors, Design and More.  You can hear it every Saturday morning on 1240AM KSMX.  Tune into it and you won't be disappointed.  There is always a lot of good flooring information mixed in with a dose of humor and wit.  Dan and his co-host Brad Memberto are guaranteed to educate you about flooring while at the same time leave a smile on your face.  You'll soon discover that "Flooring is Not Boring".  We encourage you to come in and see for yourself what all of the buzz is about.

 

 

 

Bobby Chisum

 

Bobby has been with Valley Flooring Carpet One of Santa Maria since 1985, longer than any other current employee. Bobby is a sort of jack-of-all-trades. He is an expert installer and can install all types of flooring. He is responsible for preparing the material for the installers and getting them out to the job with all of the necessary equipment and materials to do a fantastic installation. He is also the prime operator of all of our equipment here at VFC1SM like the fork lift, the cutting machine, the carpet binding machine, and more. He even has created his own collection of hand-crafted rugs - The Chisum Collection. He has designed many unique and custom rugs and can create one for you if you so desire.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Ferrari Brothers

 

Valley Flooring has always been and continues to be a family owned and operated business.   Ron began Valley Flooring with his partner Dennis Jensen way back in 1968. In 1995 they joined Carpet One which allowed them to pass the buying power and other benefits of 1,500 stores to their loyal customers.   Unfortunatley, Dennis passed away in 2004, so Ron's sons, Eric and Steve, stepped in to help Ron run the business.   Before coming to Valley Flooring Steve owned his own welding business.   Eric has taught math at Righetti High school or over 20 years now where he still teaches part-time.
